At least 24 freight carriers carrying the petroleum products have entered into the country’s border today from Belahiya border of Rupandehi. Chief Police of Ilaka Police Office, Belahiya, Abhaya Bikram Shah said that India has sent trucks that amounts to 1 petrol, 19 diesel and 6 LPG Gas.Various vehicles are now entering the country gradually as said by Shah. Showing the reason of security threat, the freight carriers are not allowed. Madhesi Morcha is not obstructing the borders due to the festive season.

The situation of Terai is getting more severe. An Indian national identified as Ashish Kumar Ram, 25, was killed in a clash with protesters at Nepal-India border in Birgunj Sub Metropolitan City on Monday.  The Indian man, a temporary resident of Birgunj-11, died at the Miteri bridge, while the police used force to contain the situation after protesters rained stones at the security personnel during a demonstration, Nepal Police said in a statement on Monday.  Ram, who sustained bullet injuries during the clash, was rushed to Narayani Sub-regional Hospital in Birgunj, where he was declared dead.
