Four people are made public by the District Police Office, Chitwan with the truck Na 2 Kha 4365 with the air fuel at Nepalgunj Depot at Rajha Airport on Monday. The police have arrested them for being involved in smuggling of the air fuels from Belchok of Narayangadh on Tuesday. The people have identified the suspects as Binod Awasthi and his helper, driver Somlal Blon of Makawanpur and middleman Kishori Patel of Birgunj. According to Police Inspector Satya Narayan Thapa, the tanker (Na 2 Kha 4365) came to Chitwan from Nepalgunj. The police nabbed in the very act of trading the air fuel. It is said that Patel offered Rs50, 000 as kickback to police to dismiss the case. The tanker did not have taken permission from the Nepal Oil Corporation to ferry the air fuel from Nepalgunj and sold fuel at different places before reaching Narayangadh. The tanker was impounded and the four were held when police found 850 litre of fuel being unloaded at a personal residence in Narayangadh, police said. The alleged suspects will be charged with the existing laws against black-marketing. The crisis of the petroleum products has increased the trend of black marketing. It has increased the crisis in the normal lives of people and even affected transportation system and education institutions as well.
