Fist were flying on Christmas Day as a community aimed to thrash out its issues before the New Year with an annual slugfest.
In a bid to settle old scores, so they can start the new year afresh, the brawls were celebrated amid a backdrop of music, drinking and general festive atmosphere.
The yearly brawls are held throughout the province of Chumbivilcas in Peru and can settle matters of the heart, to legal or financial disputes.
All community members, including children, can take part and those who prefer to just observe can watch fists fly from spectator stands set up beside the makeshift fighting rings.
