A 19-stone dad  suffocated his young son to death while playing computer games on Christmas Eve, police say
James “Rick” Dearman, 31, carried on playing games with his live-in girlfriend at the same time he was squeezing the life from his child, according to cops.
Sarasota County Sheriff’s Deputies.say the dead boy's 7-year-old sibling watched the horrific incident.
In an affidavit, the surviving child said: "When dad squished him, he got dead."
Dearman's partner, Ashley Cole, told police they had told the two children to go to bed at 7.30pm.
Their dad allegedly became angry when the two children wouldn't go to sleep, reports WFLA
She said Dearman told the youngsters to stand facing the wall - but he saw the six-year-old peeking.
The furious dad forced the boy to lie on his side on the couch with his face against the rear cushions.
He then pinned the child down using his bodyweight.
Charge: Dearman is currently in Sarasota County Jail

Cops say Dearman ignored the boy's screams that he couldn't breathe and carried on playing games.
After five minutes the child stopped moving and the couple went to the garage for a cigarette.
When they returned they saw that his lips were blue and he wasn't breathing.
Ms Cole ran back to the garage to pray while Dearman called paramedics and tried to perform CPR on his son.
The emergency services arrived and rushed to boy to hospital, but he was pronounced dead.
Dearman was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse.
On Thursday afternoon the charge was changed to aggravated manslaughter of a child.
He is currently in the Sarasota County Jail.
