Basanti Maharjan, November 24, 2015 (DC Nepal) – There have been famine now days in the Raute community who have been staying at the river bank of Singauti Village Development Committee (VDC) Eastern Dailekh. There are altogether 156 population having 42 houses. As the food items have been finished which have been managed by the money given by the government on the occasion of Dashain the starving have been started among Raute community. Raute’s living near to the Karnali highway has been banished from the income as they have not sufficient woods to work. They have been living their livelihood by making the things by wood and exchanging the materials with food item but now they have been in hazard due to the lack of raw materials to make wood materials. Raute communities are not only suffering from famine but also suffering because of hilling cold. Most of the Raute childrens are sick due to coldness as they don’t have thick clothes to wear. Raute have demanded two things with the government: a tent per each family for their shelter and another is the clothes for the females to wear. Senior of Raute community says, there is no shelter and clothes to wear so provide them shelter and clothes.
