Fire engulfed a luxury building Thursday near where tens of thousands of people had gathered for Dubai’s massive New Year’s Eve fireworks display.

It was not immediately clear what caused the fire, which ran up at least 20 stories of the building. The blaze broke out at the five-star Address Downtown, a 63-story luxury hotel and residential building.

Burning debris rained down from the building as firetrucks raced to the scene. The building was evacuated, and Dubai’s media office said 14 people suffered minor injuries.

The construction of the electric crematorium at the Pashupati Aryaghat area is now ready to operate.The construction of the crematorium building started at an estimated cost of Rs 110 million two and half years ago, Pashupati Area Development Trust Member-Secretary Govinda Tondon said. Trust's senior Director Shyam Shekhar Jha said the construction of the building is near completion while 70% of the preparations for placement of the corpses have also been complete. The electric cremation machine was brought at a cost of Rs 36 million from the Indomen Engineering Service in Kolkata, India. An engineer from the Company is currently working to fix the machine at the crematorium. The crematorium which will take at least three more months to come into operation has a freeze or cooling store which can house at least 20 bodies. Likewise, the crematorium also has a facility for a bathing room with cold and hot shower for people observing mourning rituals. An agreement has been reached with the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) for Rs 2.15 million worth of electricity supply as the crematorium house needs 24 hour supply of electricity once it comes into operation. Director Jha said a sub-station is also under construction and added that the smoke emanating from the cremation would go through a filtering process so as to reduce air pollution. Nepal Sanskrit University former Vice Chancellor Bidur Poudel said the operation of the Electric Crematorium House is the need of time. "We had organized an assembly for Pandits (Hindu priests) two decades ago to seek approval for operating such a crematorium, but the work has been very slow," said Poudel, who is also a former member of the Trust. He said the cremation of the corpses at the crematorium that lies between Pingaladevi and Pashupati Temple will accrue blessings in par with the cremation at the famous Aryaghat. The Aryaghat in Pashupati sees a daily influx of 15 bodies for cremation carried out as per Hindu ritualistic performance. Poudel says the use of electric crematorium would save time, expenditure and help keep the environment clean and free of pollution. It will take at least 45 minutes for a body to be cremated at the crematorium, according to Director Jha.

Agricultural Development Bank Limited (ADBL) is an autonomous organization largely owned by Government of Nepal. The bank has been working as a premier rural credit institution since the last three decades, contributing a more than 67 percent of institutional credit supply in the country. Hence, rural finance is the principal operational area of ADBL. Besides, it has also been executing Small Farmer Development Program (SFDP), the major poverty alleviation program launched in the country. Furthermore, the bank has also been involved in commercial banking operations since 1984.

Ramesh Kafle, a resident of Sunsari, Khanar has been arrested by the police on Saturday for planning the murder of his own brother for property, two years ago. Older brother Ramesh was arrested by police from Bhaktapur, Gathhaghar in accusation of being involved in younger brother, Subas's murder. The accused was made public through a press conference in Itahari. Subas's wife, Mamata had filed a complaint claiming that Ramesh had planned the murder of her husband. However, police had not arrested the accused citing lack of evidence. After police found enough evidence against Ramesh he went on the run. According to DSP Om Adhikari of Area Police Office Itahari, police had listed Ramesh on top of the wanted list in Eastern Regional Police Office. Ramesh was arrested in Bhaktapur, Gathhaghar with joint effort of Regional and Area Police Office.

The Tribhuwan Highway was accorded greater priority and this project was interrupted,” he said.He believes those who ran the Panchayat System were bent on hindering the construction of BP Highway.”They feared the popularity Nepali Congress party, to which BP belonged, would gain after the highway’s completion. Had the Panchayat System not interrupted the constructions, the mid-hills would have been prosperous by now,” added Upadhyaya.Back then there were no dozers and excavators. The path had to be cut through the hills and paved with manual labor.

The 68-year-old Nepali actress had gone to the hospital for a regular check-up for gastritis when she was diagnosed with pneumonia, informed her son Sunil Adhikary. At school Kristina was bullied because of her looks. She said: ‘My classmates called me ugly. They didn’t tease me because of my lips specifically but I believed big, full lips would make me beautiful. Kristina has vowed to keep having surgery in a bid to have the world’s biggest lips despite the verbal abuse she gets. Despite verbal abuse for her ‘trout pout’ she has vowed to have her lips made even bigger. She said: ‘My big lips have helped boost my confidence. Even my parents are happy for me. They really don’t care about my appearance. Some of my friends have told me I shouldn’t go any bigger but I’m not satisfied yet.’

Police arrested a supporter of CK Raut for his alleged involvement in activities against national integrity. Roshan Sah was held from Patan Industrial Area on Monday by Lalitpur Police Range. Police recovered leaflets demanding separate Madhes state from his possession. Raut is a political activist actively involved in demanding a separate state for the Madhesis people.Lalitpur Police Circle spokesperson Dayanidhi Gyawali informed that Sah was arrested along with a sack of pamphlets. According to preliminary investigations, Sah, proprietor of Ashutosh printing press, had been printing brochures for Raut. Police have pressed a public offence charge against him.

Nepal facing blockade since three months has still not been able to come to conclusion and provide justice to either Madhesi party or the public of Nepal. Mahanta Thakur who is one of the senior leader of the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (Madhesi Morcha) has disclosed that negotiations for ending the blockade with government will be done after 3rd January 2016 and also stated that ,if the government of Nepal becomes flexible Morcha is ready to accept the proposal of the government. Mahanta thakur also expressed that their party has always been concerned towards Nepali citizens and their problems and the current problem also has arise because of the poor management of the Government. As the constitution on Tuesday marks 100 days of its commencement, divisions among the political forces have posed a serious challenge in its implementation. Nepal’s new national constitution was praised for including provisions like equal rights for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and abolition of the death penalty. However, critics say it is regressive on some counts, such as citizenship rights. The national charter, promulgated on Sunday, has been welcomed by most Nepalis who hope that it will herald peace and prosperity in the once civil war-torn Himalayan nation. At the same time, many Nepalis in the country’s southern plains are protesting against state demarcation, citizenship and other provisions in the constitution, saying it pushes them further towards the margins. The protests, in which more than 40 people have died in recent weeks, have drawn critical attention from India, Nepal’s neighbor on three sides with which it shares an open border. दिउँसोभरि जग्गेमा बिहे भयो । दुलाहा र दुलहीले पुरेतले भने झैँ अनेक थरि धार्मिक अनुष्ठान गरे । कहिले दुलहीको गोडाको बुढी औँला समाउने, कहिले एक अर्काबीच दही खुवाउनुपर्ने । दुलाहा पक्ष र दुलहीपक्षका बीच जुहारी नै चल्ने, रमाइलो नै हुने । दुलाहा र दुलहीबीच बिस्तारै परिचय हुँदै गयो ।

एकैदिनको विवाह चाँडै नै दुलहीलाई अन्माउने बेला पनि हुन लाग्यो । दुलही पक्षका सबैको मुख निन्याउरो र सानो भएको थियो । बाजा बज्न थाल्यो । दुलही अलि नरमाइलो मान्न थालिन ।
दुलहीका मनमा अनेक थरी कुरा खेल्न थाले । यो आफन्तसँगको बिछोड, पराई घरमा मिलनको सुरूवात थियो । दुलाहा सुबोध भने दुविधामा थियो ।


त्यसैले उसको मनमा पनि अनेक थरि कुरा खेलिरहेको थियो । दुबैले एक अर्काको मन बुझीसकेका थिएनन् । यो प्रेम विवाह थिएन । बाजा घन्कियो । दुलही पक्षका आफन्तका आँखा रसिला भए ।
एकैछिनपछि दुलही अन्माएको घर चकमन्न भयो । दुलहीलाई जन्मघरबाट कर्मघरतिर पराइहरूले बाजाको तालमा नाच्दै गाउँदै लागिरहेका थिए । अब त्यो घर सिन्धुको घर थिएन । त्यो घर जहाँ उनी जन्मिन्, हुर्किन्, खेलिन्, बढिन्, त्यो त माइतीमा परिणत भइसकेको थियो । उनी बाटाभरि कल्पना नै गरिरहिन् । उनका श्रीमान् उनी नजिकै थिए । अबका दिनमा त्यो अपरिचित लोग्नेमान्छे नै सबैभन्दा उनको नजिकको हुन्थ्यो ।आफ्ना सबै कुरा उसलाई नै समर्पित गर्नुपर्ने ।

उनी कहिले रमाएकी थिइन् भने कहिले पराइ घरसँग डराएकी थिइन् । रात परिसकेको थियो । सिन्धुलाई अनेक चलन र विधिविधानले बधूको रूपमा घरमा भित्र्याइयो । सबै खुशी थिए । रात पनि छिप्पिन लाग्यो । सिन्धुलाई दुलाहाको कोठामा लगियो । त्यस कोठाको ढोका लगाउन लगाइयो । बन्द कोठामा, एउटा नौलो मानिससँग उनको मन ढुक्क भयो । झ्याल ढोका बन्द थिए । झ्याल ढोका सबैतिर पर्दा लगाइएको थियो ।

आजैबाट चिनेको मान्छेसँग उनलाई कुरा गर्न सहज भएन । उनी चुपचाप बसिरहिन् । सुहागरात दुलाहा र दुलही बन्द कोठामा सँगै रात बिताउने पहिलो रात, अविस्मरणीय रात, सृष्टिलाई निरन्तर अघि बढाउने क्रमको प्रथम सुरूवात, पुर्खौदेखि पछ्याउँदै आएको रीति, दुई जीवनको संयोग । सुबोधको भने यो पहिलो सुहागरात थिएन । उसको पहिलो सुहागरातले उसलाई आजसम्म पनि पीडा दिँदै आएको थियो । यसरी नै केही महिना पहिले उसले पहिलो चोटि विवाह गरेको थियो । दुलहीलाई यसरी नै घर ल्याएको थियो ।

दुलही कोठामा आइसकेकी थिइन् । उसले दुलहीसँग कुरा अघि बढाउन चाहृयो । दुलही ऊबाट परपर भइन् । आखिरमा उनको त अर्कै केटासँग प्रेम भएको कुरा दुलहीले खुलस्त गरिन् । सुबोध छाँगाबाट खसेजस्तो भएको थियो । दुलहीले आफ्नो प्रेमीलाई डाकिन् र प्रेमी पनि तुरून्तै आई उनलाई लग्यो । त्यो दिन उसको सुहागरात नभइ बोझिलो रात भएको थियो । त्यो दिनदेखि ऊ सुहागरातसँग डराउँथ्यो ।

रात चकमन्न हुँदै थियो । सिन्धुले आफ्ना साथीहरूको सुहागरातका कुरा सुनेकी थिइन् । उनको एउटा साथीको श्रीमान् त सुहागरातकै बखत मादक पदार्थ धोकेर झगडा गर्न आएको थियो । यो कुराले उनी पनि तर्सिन् तर सुबोध असल थियो । आगोलाई साक्षी राखि जग्गेलाई सातफेरा लगाई नयाँ जीवन, नयाँ वातावरण र नयाँ सम्बन्ध आत्मसाथ गर्दै सङ्कल्प गरी विवाह बन्धनमा बाँधिएका यिनीहरू मन, बचन र कर्मले निश्चल र पवित्र थिए ।

पति पत्नीको प्रेमको अङ्कुर टुसाउँदै विश्वास फैलदै जाँदै थियो । प्रेम मौलाउन थाल्यो । विस्तारै लाज हराउन थाल्यो । कुरा विस्तारै अघि बढ्दै गयो । सुबोधले उनको घुम्टो खोल्यो, नाडीका हातका चुरा चलायो । उसको स्पर्श सिन्धुलाई पनि मीठो लाग्न थाल्यो । बिस्तार बिस्तार सिन्धुलाई पनि सुबोधचिनेको आˆनै मानिस झैँ लाग्न थाल्यो । उनी पनि सुबोधसँग बोल्न थालिन् ।

आखिरमा रात छिप्पिँदै गयो । सुबोधले उनलाई ओछ्यानमा आउन आग्रह गर्यो तर उनी अटेर भई जहाँको तहीँ रहिन् । सुबोधले उनको हात तानेर ओछ्यानमा लगे उनी हाँसिन् र बोलिन् – ‘छि हजूर त कस्तो मान्छे !’ भोलि बिहान भयो । रात सकियो । बिहानी भएको आभाष चराचुरूङ्गीले दिए । सिन्धु ओछ्यानमै पल्टिरहेकी थिइन् ।

एउटा नौलो अनुभूति दुबैलाई भइरहेको थियो । दुबै एकअर्काप्रति समर्पित थिए । सिन्धुको केशराशी यताउति अनुहारतिर छरिएको थियो । सिन्धु कपाल पन्छाउँदै सुबोधसँग मुस्काइन् । सुबोध पनि आˆनो जिउ तन्काउँदै सिन्धुसँग मुस्कुरायो । यसपालिको सुहागरातले सुबोधलाई चिन्ता दिएन । ऊ आफैँमा रमायो । यो सुहागरातको चाहिँ रमाइलो समाप्ति भयो ।-
